AshwagandhaAshwagandha, also known as Winter Cherry (withania somnifera), is becoming a favorite adaptogen of many Western herbalists because of its unique properties. Translated it means "the sweat of a horse," which clinically implies "the strength of a horse," but unlike ephedra or ginseng, Ashwagandha is not a stimulant. In the long run, a stimulant will leave the body depleted. Ashwagandha helps the body adapt to stress, but it also rebuilds the nervous system without stimulating it. The proof that Ashwagandha is not a stimulant is that it is a wonderful sleep tonic. It helps give the body the energy it needs at night to put itself to sleep. In the daytime, it helps build the immune system and musculoskeletal systems, both of which are negatively impacted by stress.

Cold-Cough100px.bmp_.png

Cold Cough is an herbal formulation for the common cold. When we get a cold, classic symptoms are that the sinuses become dry and irritated from pollutants, pollens, dry air, or allergens of some sort. When the sinuses make excessive mucus, they become a breeding ground for bacterial infection. Cold-Cough contains turmeric, which liquefies the mucus where the infection may begin. Turmeric also supports the immune system. Cold-Cough also contains an herbal compound called sitopladi, which has a similar function to turmeric. It lubricates and supports the walls of the intestinal tract, allowing mucous membranes to normalize.

ElimI100px.png

Elim 1 - Triphala is a traditional Ayurvedic formula that is a combination of three fruits used for  eliminative difficulties. When the intestinal tract becomes severely dried out, Triphala, which tones the bowel, is sometimes not enough. Elim I has triphala in but also some herbal demulcents to soften  and support the intestinal wall. In some cases, Triphala and Elim I will initially need to be combined. In a short time Triphala can be dropped, and later the Elim I can also be dropped, to be used only as needed to support normal regularity.

Laxatives desensitize the bowel, making it unresponsive, which in turn produces reactive mucus. Elim I supports the mucous membranes of the intestinal tract while toning the muscles of the intestinal tract.
